Reflections

Leadership Notes

I’d like to follow-up last week’s thoughts with reflections on the Charlie Kirk Memorial Service. Most of these reflections are not my own. Simply passed on by me. Most of them are from Jamie Bambrick, Irish pastor and author.

     Here’s how he begins:

My Dear American Friends,

We British Christians would get excited when, once a year, Queen

Elizabeth would make a mild but sincere reference to the love of

Jesus Christ in her Christmas address.

In Charlie Kirks’ Memorial Service…I just heard:

> Multiple clear presentations of the gospel from Pastor Rob McCoy and Pastor Frank

Turek, with clear calls to repentance and faith.

> Worship songs full of Scripture sung by tens of thousands live and millions at home.

> Personal testimonies of lives transformed by the work of Christ and the witness of

believers.

> Demonstration and explanation of the value of marriage, child-rearing, and family.

> Calls to Romans 13 for the government to bear the sword for the protection of good

and punishment of the wicked.

> Declarations of spiritual warfare on the forces of evil and promises to endure no matter

the cost. {See Luke 11:27-36 and my message on “The Chaos of Evil.”}

> More scripture reference and bible readings than I can count.

> And a widow publicly forgiving her husband’s killer because Christ forgave his killers on

the cross.

I {Pastor Richard now} was especially impressed with the clear presentation of the Gospel from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. I was not expecting him to be as Reformed and Biblical as he was. I should be so clear and concise. God was glorified!

I love this Gospel truth from Renatta Michele Oxendine:

“I pray Charlie Kirk’s assassin turns to Christ. What he did was

horrible, and he deserves to be punished, but he needs Christ. I

think Charlie would want us to pray for him to find Jesus.”

That is the way forward. That is how we navigate life surrounded by the chaos of evil.

And now, your Moment of Spurgeon:

“If our sins are as high as the mountains, the ocean of His

atonement is like Noah's flood, covering the utmost summit.”

With Much Love and Affection,

            Richard

We have all been called to a higher understanding and commitment to our Lord, from the faith and perseverance of an individual who said, “ here I am Lord” and actually meant it.
