How do we "Church" at Covenant?

TL;DR version:

"We love God, we treasure God's Word and we help people."

You can find more detailed information below.

WORSHIP SERVICES

Covenant has two worship schedules

  • Regular (Fall - Spring)

  • Summer (uh.. Summer)

During the Regular Schedule Covenant Church offers two Sunday services (The same sermon is preached at both)

  • 8:30am - This is the more traditional service. It includes traditional hymns sung from a hymnal and worship is led by a choir, organ and piano.

  • 11:00am - This is the less traditional service. It includes hymns and praise songs sung from a screen and worship is led by a praise band.

During the Summer Schedule Covenant Church combines into one Sunday service

  • 10:00am - This service is a delightful grab bag of who knows what's going to happen? There may be choir, praise band, piano, organ, quartets, solos and whatnot. (Don't ask what a whatnot is. I think it's a cross between a hut-zut and a saroozaphone)

Children

Covenant Church is passionate about securing the salvation of the next generation. Toward that end we offer multiple ways to help love and grow your children in Jesus.

Nursery [0-5 years]

The nursery is available anytime during worship, but is only staffed for 11 am worship (10am in summer). We love little ones and take their safety very seriously. All nursery team members must be 18 years older, must have a background check, and a relationship with Covenant Church.

Children's Sunday School [P-6 grade]

THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR ON SUNDAYS AT 9:45 AM

Kids don't typically just "find God" on their own. They need guidance, care, love and nurturing. If you're a parent you know how important those things are to your mini-you's development. We love children and want to help them get to know Jesus!

Vacation Bible School [VBS]

For one week in the summer our entire campus receives a VBS makeover to reach kids who not only attend Covenant, but those who might never otherwise visit a church.

Exciting games and activities, engaging bible stories and a staff of volunteers who go above and beyond the call of duty; all make VBS at Covenant a great example of the ethos "Pray as though it's all up to God but work as though it's all up to us".

Youth Group

Not to brag, but we're totally gonna brag.

Covenant teens are second to none.

Not because they're so amazing.

Not because we're so good at "teen things".

Because God works actively in and through the Youth Group at Covenant Church.

Our Youth and Family Ministry Director, Chris Nevins, has a vision to develop a sustainable, intentional, and distinguished ministry through discipleship, spirituality, and Christian living. Following the model so perfectly demonstrated by Jesus Christ.

Adult Sunday School

MEETS SUNDAYS DURING OUR FALL - SPRING SCHEDULE AT 9:45AM

Adulting is hard. Let us help. You have:

  • Bills to pay

  • Jobs to do

  • Drama to avoid.

Adult sunday school is none of those things.

There are multiple groups that meet Sundays at 9:45. Each studies a different topic. Don't be afraid to explore! If you Plan Your Visit we can help guide you toward the group that will help you grow.

Covenant Women's Group

WOMEN OF COVENANT CHURCH MEET MONTHLY IN THE EVENING

Each gathering is different. Sometimes the group works together on a service project, listens to a speaker, or learns about something new. Come any time that you can to enjoy fun and fellowship with other Christian women. It’s a great way to get to know your fellow Cove Women!

Men's Breakfast

MEETS FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH AT 8:30

[CHECK CHURCH CALENDAR FOR OCCASIONAL CHANGES]

It's a bunch of guys eating together way too early on a Saturday morning and talking about guy stuff. What more needs to be said?

Small Group Ministry

Small Group Ministry is intended to enable God’s people to grow spiritually and mature together in the Word of God by using the unique qualities and strengths that are found in smaller groups. The ultimate goal is to form cohesive bonds between current believers while opening up opportunities for those outside our radius to come to know Christ, His followers, and His plan for us in a more intimate way thus increasing God’s Kingdom.

Greeters and Ushers

"Greeter" is pretty self-explanatory, they greet people as they arrive. They hold the door, shake your hand, offer you a program and maybe even smile at you!

Maybe...

"Usher" on the other hand is a bit more obscure. These holy ne'er-do-wells carry fancy plates and steal your money.

Well... steal isn't exactly the right word. More like "provide you with the opportunity to hand over the contents of your wallet and purse".

Hmmmm... That sounds more like a mugger.

Ushers pass you the plates during the offering time in a worship service. Silliness aside, we don't expect you to contribute to the church if you're a visitor.
