Leadership Notes

Greetings…this is going to be a different LN. It’s more an update and a confession, than anything else.

First things, we are still having a congregational meeting to approve my salary package {as required by our denomination}. A big thank you to Sandy Lewis, Church Treasurer, for cleaning up of loose ends in that department. Over the years, especially since moving from one denomination to another, and the experience of many different people serving in various capacities, some tidying had to be done. Sandy has brought greater clarity to things. I could not be happier with how she has helped me and Covenant Church.

Secondly, over the course of my life, I have fallen short in certain areas of interpersonal communication. For several reasons, I have asked that the purchase of the church-owned house be removed from consideration at this time. There are several issues Lori and I need to process, and we believe now is not the time for such a momentous decision. This has nothing to do with church leadership or the generosity of spirit in extending this opportunity to us. Covenant Church is blessed by God with kindhearted, generous, and gracious people. There’s no place on earth we’d rather be.

Thank you for your patience and perseverance. While I have to process some things privately, there is no change to my commitment to what God is doing here through our church; nor is there any change in the message of hope and salvation we share with each other and our community. God is good all the time…

And now your Moment of Spurgeon:

“We are to bring nothing, but to find all in him, yea, the fulness of

all in him: we are simply to receive out of his fulness grace for

grace. We are not asked to contribute, nor required to make up

deficiencies, for there are none to make up—all, all is laid up in

Christ.”

With More Affection and Appreciation Than You’ll Ever Know,

Richard
