Leadership Notes

This first LN of the new year is going to be short and sweet.

As a nation, our four year constitutional crisis is coming to an end. As President Biden leaves office, I trust we’ll all join together in praying for our country and the world as a new era of leadership is ushered in. And I’m not only talking about here at home. There are lots of things happening in other countries across the globe. It will be another challenging year…has there ever been a year that wasn’t?

The following story captures where we need to be, no matter what we experience or go through in life. A woman shares a lovely real life story:

“WHEN I WAS WORKING AS A SPEECH THERAPIST AT THE

CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN COLUMBUS, I HAD A LITTLE GUY ON

THE AUTISM SPECTRUM ON MY CASELOAD, AND SOMETIMES HIS

MOM WOULD BRING IN PICTURES OF THINGS THAT HAD

HAPPENED DURING THE WEEK FOR US TO TALK ABOUT IN OUR

THERAPY SESSION. IT HAD BEEN HIS BIRTHDAY ONE WEEK, AND

HIS MOM BROUGHT IN A PICTURE OF HIM BLOWING OUT THE

CANDLE ON HIS BIRTHDAY CUPCAKE. I ASKED HIM IF HE MADE A

WISH WHEN HE BLEW OUT THE CANDLE AND HE SAID, ‘YES.’

WHEN I ASKED HIM WHAT HE WISHED FOR, HE SAID, ‘A

CUPCAKE.’”

Contentment.

BOOM.

Contentment. In Jesus Christ, may that be our watchword throughout 2025:

“Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in

whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought

low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I

have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance

and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

-      Philippians 4:11-13

     With Much Love and Affection,
