Our Lives Are Full!

April 16, 2025

Leadership Notes

What a lovely day of worship and fellowship we enjoyed on Palm Sunday. As always, when we’re singing and praying, and learning from God’s Word, we are getting a little glimpse of heaven here on earth. I love the way Covenant Church worships. I love how worship is an essential priority in our lives.

And then we topped it off with delicious food and warm fellowship. It was a delight to see folks making symbolic crosses from palm branch strands. I hope the day made your heart as glad as it made my heart!

As we move through the week to Easter worship, there’s a very special service of diminishing light on Good Friday. It starts here at church at 8:00 p.m. Together, we draw close to the cross so we can celebrate Easter in its proper context. Amen?

Finally, I recently read a beautiful affirmation from Sarah Salviander. She is a researcher in astrophysics who earned a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of Texas, Austin. She is also a Christian apologist. She wrote:

As a Christian, I’ve heard it all from nonbelievers…

  •  “You must believe what your parents told you.”

  •  “You must not know any science.”

  •  “Your faith hasn’t been tested.”

     Well…

  • I was raised atheist.

  •  I have a Ph.D. in science.

  •  I’ve lost a child and had cancer.

     I’m still a believer.

That is faith captured by the power of the resurrection. The tomb is empty. Our lives are full…

And now, Two Moments of Spurgeon:

“I pray you, brethren, wherever you are, defend this fundamental

doctrine of our most holy faith - that the Lord Jesus Christ has laid

down his life to make atonement for the sins of his people.”

&

“It is not written that many mansions are prepared especially for

angels, but Jesus our Lord has gone before to prepare a place for

us, made ready especially for our delight. Hath he not said it – ‘I

go to prepare a place for you?’”

     With Much Love and Affection,

                      Richard
