God reigns from His Holy throne

November 9, 2022

Leadership Notes

Democracy works. Imagine that. In spite of the direst apocalyptic warnings, people voted, those votes were counted, and the will of the people was expressed. Nothing earth shattering happened. There wasn't a wave of any kind. Maybe a ripple. Who knows? When I pulled out of our driveway this morning, I looked to the west and the moon was shining in its resplendent glory. God reigns from His Holy throne and Jesus is King. Not a bad way to start the day.

Democracy is going to work even better this Sunday, November 13, when we gather after worship to vote for the best chili cook in Covenant Church history. We have eleven entrants. It's going to be epic. Nothing beats great food and fellowship. All of the money raised is going to the Heifer Project, the mission program chosen by our children's ministry. We're expecting a red and blue wave of hungry stomachs and kind hearts as we share in this beautiful life together.

As we inch closer to Advent, here's something to think about:

"Liberalism regards Jesus as the fairest flower of humanity; Christianity

regards him as a supernatural person."

- J. Gresham Machen

With that, here's your Moment of Spurgeon:

BE ASSURED, THERE IS NOTING NEW IN THEOLOGY EXCEPT THAT

WHICH IS FALSE.

With Much Love and Affection,

Richard
