5 This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.
John 4:24 (NLT)
24 For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
1 John 4:16 (NLT)

James 1:17 (NLT)
17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
Numbers 14:18 (NLT)
18 ‘The LORD is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. But he does not excuse the guilty. He lays the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations.’
Hebrews 12:29 (NLT)
29 For our God is a devouring fire.
God - the Creator of everything - is an infinite mystery Who has chosen to love us and has given us the privilege of loving Him back.
God is completely different.
It’s such a difficult concept to grasp. There is absolutely nothing in all of creation that can be compared to God. He alone is the Uncaused Cause.
We do not know where He lives. We do not know where He lived before He created the universe. We cannot fathom the concept of a Being with no beginning and no end.
God spoke and stars thousands of times larger than our own blazed into fiery light. Atoms began twirling, neutrinos began zipping along and the speed of light was established. God made planets that are being consumed by their stars, planets made of diamond and planets made of gas. God created nebulae, solar systems, galaxies and comets.
God spoke to the ocean and told it where its boundaries would be. He created mountains, canyons, caves and glaciers. He shaped the world into a ball and set us spinning and revolving around our own star. God filled the ground with empty places full of crystals and precious stones and metals that no one will ever see but Him. He knows what’s at the center of the planet and just exactly where the deepest part of the ocean is.
God spoke and dust became man. God breathed and man came to life. God created not only the observable universe, but the invisible laws that keep it moving according to the pattern that He designed. God made the unseen spiritual world. A world about which could be said is more of a reality than our limited physical world. After all, everything in our physical world will pass away, but God Himself is spirit and our souls are as well.
God did not wind us up like a toy and set us down to be left alone though. God has remained very active in the life of this planet. He feeds the birds, causes the plants to grow and sends the rains on the good and the bad alike. God does not need us. He cannot be made greater by our praise or worship and He cannot be made less if we choose to withhold it. Even so, He wants a relationship with us. God loves us completely, wildly, unreservedly and unashamedly.
The eternal Creator of all the universe loves us so much that he counts the number of hairs on our heads, knows our deepest secrets and provides every breath we breathe.
God is holy.
He is separate, set apart, unique, different.
If you were to be asked to choose which is more like God, an angel or germ on the bathroom floor, the only true answer is…. neither.
Nothing and no one is like God.
God is special, kind, loving, caring, fiery, scary, light, creative, imaginative, terrifying, powerful, fierce, patient, fair, trustworthy and good.
God is good. All the time.
